Sol 4049CS Rust-Colored Outdoor Ceiling Light with LED, NORLYS

NORLYS Sol 4049CS is a surface-mounted outdoor ceiling light with an integrated LED module and DALI2 control. CS identifies the finish that the manufacturer calls Corten steel; the housing itself is aluminium rather than Corten steel. A plain cylindrical body and circular light aperture give it a restrained, modern appearance.

Warm light directed below the ceiling

Satin-finished glass covers the LED source, which produces a warm 3000 K light. The distribution is symmetrical and directed downwards, so placement should be planned around the surface below the ceiling connection. The complete luminaire delivers 1618 lm and consumes 19.3 W. Use that luminaire output when comparing it with other fittings, rather than the higher output figure for the LED module alone.

The light source is already integrated, so there is no separate screw-base bulb to select. Its driver supports DALI2. Allow for that control system when planning the electrical installation; DALI2 support does not in itself establish compatibility with any existing domestic wall dimmer.

Allowing space on a covered terrace

The body measures 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm in height. Compare those dimensions with the available ceiling area and the space beneath it before choosing a position. Ceiling mounting, downward light and an IP65 rating support use on a covered terrace, in a gazebo or above a sheltered entrance. Each location still needs a suitable mounting surface over the area to be lit. This is a ceiling fitting, not a freestanding garden bollard to place alongside a path.

Installation and future servicing

Sol 4049CS operates at 220–240 V and is a Class I luminaire. Its two fixing holes are spaced 100 mm apart. A suitably qualified installer must mount and connect it in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The LED module and control gear can be replaced by a professional service; this is not the same as a routine bulb change by the user.
