ARGON GIN 694 opal white glass ceiling light, 2×E27, 30 cm

ARGON GIN 694 is a round ceiling light with a matt white opal glass shade. Its shallow curved face and narrow rim form a compact surface-mounted fitting, with two E27 lampholders concealed behind one continuous shade.

A shallow fitting with a 30 cm footprint

The light measures 300 mm across and projects 70 mm from the ceiling. Compare that footprint with the available ceiling space before choosing a position. Unlike a pendant, GIN has no hanging cable whose length determines the shade's position: its shape stays close to the mounting surface. That low profile is useful when you want to retain clearance above a passage.

The white glass and absence of elaborate decoration suit modern and minimalist interiors. The opal shade covers the bulbs rather than leaving them exposed. The manufacturer's illuminated photograph shows light passing through the glass; it should not be read as a promise of a particular colour temperature.

Choose two bulbs that fit inside

Bulbs are not included. The fitting requires two E27 LED or energy-saving bulbs, each rated at no more than 15 W. Matching the screw base is only part of the choice: the mounting instructions specify a maximum bulb width of 50 mm and height of 105 mm. Check the dimensions of your chosen bulbs so that they fit beneath the shade.

Brightness and light colour depend on those separately selected sources. Use their lumen ratings when planning illumination, rather than assuming that two sockets determine how much light the room receives. The fitting uses a 230 V supply; the instructions show a protective-earth connection and installation with the power switched off.

Hallway, kitchen or office ceiling

ARGON names hallways, kitchens and office rooms among the uses for this version. Its shallow form also provides an alternative to a hanging light in a living room or bedroom. The manufacturer specifies rooms with normal humidity and a two-year manufacturer's warranty. Select the bulbs and mounting position for the actual space instead of relying on the apparent warmth or brightness of the staged photograph.
