Argon OMBRA 6142 flush ceiling light, opal glass and brass-plated steel, 3×E27, 30 cm

Argon OMBRA 6142 is a round flush ceiling light pairing matt opal glass with a gold-toned ring of brass-plated steel. Seen from below, the broad white glass surface takes the lead; from the side, the narrow metal rim becomes more prominent. The fitting uses three replaceable bulbs rather than an integrated LED module.

A 30 cm footprint close to the ceiling

The light measures 30 cm in both width and depth, with an overall height of 10 cm. Its shallow body stays close to the ceiling, without the drop of a pendant light. Before choosing its position, compare those measurements with the space above doors, nearby fitted furniture and the location of the electrical connection. A product photograph alone may not convey its actual size.

Argon identifies entrance halls, bedrooms, kitchens and dining rooms as suitable applications. The low-profile form also supports general lighting in a corridor or living room when a hanging shade is not wanted. Required brightness should be assessed against the size of the room and any other lighting, rather than inferred from the number of sockets.

Choose three E27 bulbs separately

Bulbs are not supplied. The fitting requires three E27 light sources for 230 V, and the installation instructions specify a maximum of 15 W LED per bulb. That figure is a limit, not the ceiling light's fixed electricity consumption: actual power use depends on the bulbs installed. Their selection also determines colour temperature and luminous flux, so neither is a fixed specification of the fitting itself.

Opal glass with a brass-plated edge

The matt glass conceals the light sources when viewed from the room. The gold-toned perimeter can be coordinated with other brass-plated details. Its simple circular form suits modern and minimalist schemes; Argon also lists loft, Hampton and Shabby Chic interiors. The metal parts are brass-plated steel, not solid brass. The manufacturer provides a two-year warranty.
