Candellux BRAVA 21-23230 Wall Light, White Organza Shade, Chrome, 1xE27  Stock Sale

The Candellux BRAVA 21-23230 is a wall light with an unusual two-layer construction: a semi-transparent organza shade with a bound edge, and inside it — visible through the fabric — a glass ball. A chromed arm curves away from the wall plate, with a decorative crystal drop hanging beneath it. The result is a fitting that looks quite different switched off and switched on.

The double shade — what the effect is

The organza is loosely woven and translucent, so with the light on you do not see a solid surface but the sphere drawn inside it. The glass ball diffuses the bulb's light before it reaches the fabric, which lets the shade glow evenly, without the hot spot opposite the lamp that afflicts cheap wall lights with a single thin shade. The crystal drop below the arm catches reflections and adds movement.

Dimensions and proportions

The fitting stands 30 cm tall and projects 22 cm from the wall; the shade is 27 cm across. This is a light with real presence — in a narrow hallway 22 cm of projection can be noticeable, while above a sofa, at a dressing table or either side of a bed the proportions work in its favour. At 1 kg, fixing needs nothing beyond ordinary plugs for the wall material.

Lamps

The fitting has one E27 socket rated at a maximum of 60 W. No bulb is supplied; the manufacturer states explicitly that there is no integrated LED, so the lamp is chosen separately and changed as in any classic light. Because of the double, strongly diffusing shade it is worth picking a lamp with more output than the fitting's size would suggest, and a warm 2700 K — cool light loses its character through cream organza.

Installation and use

Supply is 230 V / 50 Hz and the IP20 rating places it in dry interiors. The classic styling with crystal and chrome reads best in a living room, bedroom or dining room, and equally in hotel and restaurant spaces, where warm diffused wall light is needed more often than strong general lighting.

Variants and spares

The same model is also made with a black shade (cat. no. 21-26552). The manufacturer additionally sells BRAVA shades as separate items — white (100013) and black in two aperture versions (100011 and 100012) — which allows the light to be refreshed after some years, or its character changed, without replacing the whole fitting. Candellux also offers a matching single-shade pendant from the same collection.
