Marietta is a 16-light pendant 70 cm across, built from five stepped rings hung with dense curtains of clear glass rods. The metal rings and the suspension carry an antique brass plated finish, and the fitting hangs from a chain with a transparent cable.
How big it is and where it can hang
The shade measures 70 cm in diameter and the overall height adjusts between 102 and 242 cm — you shorten it by removing chain links. Fully extended, the fitting reaches 2.4 m below the ceiling, which is why the maker intends it for stairwells and rooms with high ceilings. Measure the distance from your ceiling to the floor (or to the top step) before ordering and compare it with that range.
The fitting weighs 10.1 kg. That is the load the fixing point has to carry: in a plasterboard ceiling the anchor belongs in the supporting structure, not in the board.
How many lamps you still have to buy
Marietta has 16 E14 lampholders and takes lamps rated up to 6 W each. Lamps are not supplied, so putting the light into service means buying a set of 16 — worth adding to the bill. The maker expects LED lamps, and the ones it recommends for this model include E14 candles and golf balls with a visible filament. Behind clear rods that matters, because the lamp shows through the glass.
The fitting is dimmable, but that alone is not enough: you need a dimmer in the circuit and lamps described as dimmable. Ordinary LEDs without that marking flicker or ignore the control.
Build and connection
The frame is steel with a brass-coloured finish, and straight glass rods hang from the rings. The rods are clear: they diffuse the light and leave the lamps visible at the same time. The supply cable is transparent and 1.5 m long.
The fitting is class I, so it has to be connected to a protective earth. In an older installation without earthing, have an electrician assess the mounting.
