VT-817-SQ-CH is a square recessed mounting frame for GU10 lamps, supplied two to a pack. It is not a finished luminaire but a fitting for plasterboard or suspended ceilings, into which any GU10 spotlight can be dropped – the lamp is bought separately, so wattage, colour temperature and beam angle stay your choice.
Tilting ring
The inner ring is gimbal-mounted inside the square frame, so the direction of light can be tipped away from vertical even after installation. That turns ordinary downlighting into accent lighting: the beam can be aimed at a picture wall, a cupboard front, a worktop or a shelf instead of only washing the floor below.
Build and installation
The frame is steel with a mirror chrome finish – the shine sits well alongside bathroom taps, cabinet handles and stainless appliances. Two spring clips hold it in the opening: fold them up, push the frame into the cut-out and release, and the springs pull the flange tight against the ceiling. The outer footprint is 82 × 82 mm with a 27 mm recess depth. It runs on 220–240 V, 50 Hz mains and accepts GU10 lamps rated up to 35 W.
Operating conditions
An IP20 rating restricts the fitting to dry rooms – living room, bedroom, hallway or kitchen. Bathroom protection zones and outdoor positions need a higher IP rating. The manufacturer quotes a normal working range of −20 to +45 °C. The two-piece pack lets you build a pair of light points straight away, or keep a spare for when the installation grows.
