Norlys Halmstad 1403GA bollard light, hot-dip galvanised with impregnated pine, 49 cm, E27, IP65

Halmstad 1403GA is a low bollard light with a 12 × 12 cm square section, standing 49 cm high. The middle of the body is impregnated Scandinavian pine in a light natural tone, while the foot and the louvred head are hot-dip galvanised steel, unpainted. Behind the louvres sits an opal PMMA diffuser.

Where a 49 cm bollard belongs

At this height the light reaches the edges of a path, driveway, flower bed or terrace rather than the whole yard. The maker intends it for private grounds and public areas.

The bollard is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. The concrete anchor (205ZX0010), ground anchor (206GA0010), concrete-foundation adapter (206GA0S10) and mounting adapters (3080GA0009, 3086GA0009) are sold separately. The light weighs 6.2 kg.

How it lights and which bulb it needs

The head is partly shielded from above and the opal diffuser spreads the light sideways, all round the bollard. ULOR is 48%, so almost half of the light goes above the horizontal; the fitting glows itself and is visible from afar, which makes it a poor choice where a dark sky matters. The BUG rating is B0-U3-G1.

Inside is an E27 socket for an LED bulb of up to 9 W in the A55–A60 shape. No light source is included, so you choose colour and brightness yourself, and the user changes the bulb without a service visit.

Durability and connection

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, and IK10 is the top grade of enclosure impact resistance, which counts beside a path where a mower or bicycle may catch the bollard. The fitting is protection class II, so it needs no protective earth.

The terminals take conductors up to 3×2.5 mm², and a through-wired link to the next bollard up to 3×1.5 mm². The supply cable needs a round sheath of up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The diffuser (06295000) and gasket (08295000) are available as spare parts.

Light timber combined with galvanised steel is a form in the Scandinavian vein. The bollard suits gardens, terraces and driveways, street frontages, and hotels and restaurants.
