A pole-top luminaire, not a garden lamp

HAMMERFEST is a post-top luminaire for a 60 mm pole, with 95 mm of spigot depth — an item of lighting infrastructure rather than a decoration beside a flowerbed. Its proportions and mass say as much: a wide circular canopy carried on three angled arms meeting at the pole sleeve, the whole thing weighing 9.2 kg. Beneath the canopy sits an opal PMMA diffuser that closes off the source and spreads the light evenly in every direction.

3700 lumens at 3000 K — for paths and squares

The LED module draws 32 W and 3700 lm leave the luminaire (the source itself gives 5200 lm) at a warm 3000 K. Luminaire efficiency is 115.6 lm/W — very high for a fitting with a closed opal diffuser, where some of the flux always stays inside. That much light from the height of an ordinary park pole (3–4 m) covers a path several metres wide, and the warm 3000 K is gentler on the surroundings and on insects than the cool 4000 K used for roads.

IP65 and IK07 — a luminaire for public space

IP65 means dust-tight and protected against jets of water. IK07 is impact resistance to 2 J — for a fitting standing in a park or beside a footpath that is a real requirement, not an extra. The operating range runs from −20 °C to +45 °C. Rated life is over 72,000 hours to L70B50.

Mains resilience and installation data

The luminaire withstands surges of 6/10 kV and draws an inrush current of 19 A for 210 µs — the second figure has to be allowed for when sizing the circuit protection, because with several fittings on one breaker the combined surge can trip it. Supply comes through a factory-fitted H05RN-F 3G1 cable, 6 m long, connected in a suitably chosen junction box. The luminaire's side area is 0.102 m² — the figure used to calculate wind loading on the pole.

Materials and warranty

The body is powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016, the diffuser opal PMMA, the seal silicone. Norlys gives 25 years of anti-corrosion warranty on the coating and 5 years on the luminaire. The mounting adapter for the pole (index 154XX0010) and the pole itself are chosen separately — neither is included.
