Jupiter CORTINA 2091 pendant lamp, gold, 2 cylindrical shades on a 50 cm bar, 2x E27

CORTINA 2091 is a Jupiter pendant lamp with two gold cylindrical shades hanging on cables from a black rectangular ceiling bar. Vertical stripes in two shades of gold run over the shades, and the edges are finished with a gold binding. The inside of the shades is dark.

Size and where to hang it

The bar is 50 cm long and the fitting 18 cm deep — that is the diameter of the shades, which hang side by side in one line. This layout suits a rectangular table or a worktop, with both shades hanging along its longer edge.

The overall height of the fitting is at most 100 cm. Over a table, the lower edge of the shades is usually set 70–80 cm above the top, so it is worth checking that figure against your ceiling height. The lamp weighs 1.4 kg.

Bulbs and light

Each shade has an E27 lampholder, two in total. Bulbs are not included, so you need to buy two. The manufacturer allows a maximum of 15 W per holder — no standard incandescent or halogen E27 bulb draws that little, so this lamp takes LED bulbs.

The shades are open at the bottom, so most of the light falls downwards onto the surface below the lamp, while a warm golden glow shows through the shade walls. The light colour depends on the bulb you choose — 2700–3000 K, warm light, is the usual choice over a dining table.

What kind of interior it suits

Jupiter classes CORTINA as classic in style. The striped gold shades against the black bar and black cables create a clear contrast that works best in a dining room and over a table or kitchen island. The CORTINA family also includes versions with one and with three shades, so the fitting can be matched to the length of the table.
