The large Facet wall lamp stands 61 cm tall and has a hexagonal cross-section: a vertical diffuser of matte opal glass is closed at the top and bottom by steel caps in matte black. The fitting was designed by Hinkley and is sold in Europe by Quintiesse, part of the Elstead Lighting group.
Size and where to fit it
It measures 61 cm high and 11.5 cm wide and projects only 8 cm from the wall. Compare the height with your mirror or with the strip of free wall where it is to hang — the manufacturer's technical drawing shows it mounted vertically.
The manufacturer rates it for indoor use, including bathrooms. IP44 means protection against water splashing from any direction.
Integrated LED: how much light and what kind
The light source is a built-in 22 W LED module. There is no lamp holder, so no bulb needs to be bought — but the source cannot be replaced by the user either. The manufacturer states a lifetime of 50,000 hours, which at three hours a day comes to more than 45 years.
1850 lm is more than a traditional 100 W incandescent bulb gave, so this is main-light output. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 90 means colours look almost as they do in daylight — it matters at a mirror, for shaving or make-up. The fitting is dimmable; you need a dimmer in the wall circuit for that.
Build and style
The body and caps are steel, and the matte opal glass diffuses the light so no individual diodes show on the diffuser. The matte black caps contrast with the milky white glass and draw a crisp hexagonal outline on the wall. The form is modern: a plain geometric body with no ornament. The Facet series also includes other sizes of this wall lamp.
