Caesar small LED wall light Quintiesse, alabaster, Urban Bronze, 9 W 620 lm

Caesar is a wall light in which an alabaster shade shaped like a pyramid with bevelled edges rises from a metal base of four triangular faces, finished in the dark Urban Bronze tone. The collection is designed by the brand Alora and brought to Europe by Quintiesse, part of the Elstead group. An integrated LED module lights it from behind the stone.

How large it is and how far it stands off the wall

The fitting is 30.5 cm tall and 11.7 cm wide and projects 6.6 cm from the wall — a figure worth comparing with the width of your own hallway, because a body this shallow does not get in the way of anyone passing. It weighs 1.44 kg, so fixing it to plasterboard means hitting a stud or using a cavity fixing.

Supply is mains voltage, 220–240 V, with no plug: the light is wired in permanently. It is insulation class I, so the circuit needs an earth conductor. The manufacturer intends it for interiors only.

How much light it gives

The LED module draws 9 W and delivers 620 lm, a little less than an old 60 W bulb — this is mood and accent light, not a light source for a whole room. The colour is warm, and CRI 90 means wall colours and fabrics beside the fitting keep their tone.

Alabaster passes light unevenly, so the veining only shows once the light is on, exactly as in the main photograph. The fitting dims, but it needs a dimmer compatible with an LED driver. The diodes are permanently built in: there is no bulb to buy for this lamp and none to change, and the manufacturer states 50,000 hours, which at three hours a day is about 45 years.

Alabaster and finish

The shade is alabaster and the base is steel. Alabaster is a natural stone, so veining and shade differ from piece to piece — no two examples of this lamp are identical. The metal carries the matt dark Urban Bronze finish, with a lighter catch along the edges where the triangular faces of the base meet. The manufacturer gives a two-year guarantee.
