Quintiesse Valise LED wall light – vintage brass, cognac faux leather

Valise QN-VALISE-W-VBS-CL from the Quintiesse range takes its detailing from vintage travel luggage. Its horizontal body has a cognac-coloured covering, visible stitching and two straps with metal fittings. This version combines a vintage brass finish with integrated LED lighting rather than sockets for separately chosen bulbs.

Faux leather, stitching and brass-toned metal

The manufacturer describes the covering as vegan leather: it is faux leather, not animal leather. The construction combines steel with frosted acrylic. Vintage brass refers to the metal finish rather than a solid brass body. Stitching follows the outline of the front panel, while the two straps wrap around the upper rod. A round wall plate sits behind the elongated light.

Those luggage-like details support a vintage or retro interior scheme without turning the fitting into a traditional shaded sconce. Both the cognac covering and the brass-toned metal remain visible when the LEDs are off. Compare these finishes with furniture handles and other exposed hardware when deciding how the light will sit within the room.

Allow space for the horizontal body

The light is 50.2 cm wide and 18.2 cm high, with a projection of 11.4 cm from the wall. Check the available wall area as well as clearance from opening cupboard doors and passing people. Valise is an indoor, mains-powered wall fitting, not a portable lamp supplied for plugging into a socket.

Its wide, low profile can provide supplementary wall lighting in a living room, bedroom, dining room, hallway, office or study. Placement still needs to be considered alongside the other light sources: a decorative wall light is not automatically a substitute for a room's complete lighting or a dedicated work lamp.

Very warm integrated LEDs

The LEDs have a colour temperature of 2620 K and a stated light output of 520 lm. Frosted acrylic covers the source, and the product photographs show the illuminated underside. The very warm colour is worth comparing with the colour temperatures of nearby fittings when combining several lights.

Valise is dimmable. Choose controls compatible with its LED system; the dimmable specification does not establish compatibility with every dimmer. The manufacturer gives a standard two-year guarantee, separate from the stated LED life of 50,000 hours. The latter should not be read as the length of the guarantee.
