MALVANO Porcelain Wall Light Mocha Ø16 cm G9 LE45265 Luces Exclusivas

MALVANO LE45265 is a wall light with a round porcelain disc in a mocha colour, covered in concentric grooves, with an opal glass globe projecting from its centre. The disc is 16 cm across and the globe 10 cm, so the glass takes up about two thirds of the front and the porcelain ring frames it like a wide border.

Dimensions and space on the wall

According to the manufacturer's drawing the disc itself is 4.3 cm thick, and with the globe the light projects 12.5 cm from the wall. Compare that with where it is going to hang — in a narrow hallway or beside a door 12.5 cm is a noticeable projection, above a bed or in a living room it usually does not matter.

Which bulb you need to buy

The light has one G9 socket and the manufacturer gives a maximum lamp rating of 5 W. No bulb is included. The 5 W limit rules out ordinary G9 halogen capsules, which usually start at 20 W — this fitting takes a G9 LED capsule, whose colour and brightness you choose yourself. At 2700–3000 K the light passing through the opal glass is warm and diffused, and the mocha porcelain disc warms it further.

An IP20 rating means the light is for dry indoor rooms.

Material and form

The disc is porcelain and the globe glass. The grooves running around the disc throw rings of light and shadow across the porcelain when the lamp is on. The form is modern and plain: two geometric elements, a circle and a sphere, with no metal ornament. The MALVANO family offers the same wall light in other porcelain colours.
