Modena 397 is a classic-style garden lamp post: a telescopic pole carries three lanterns with clear polycarbonate panes, spread on arms across a width of 95 cm. The whole set is powder-coated cast aluminium in white (RAL 9003). It consists of the 3024 three-lantern luminaire, the 3040 terminal and the 3010 pole.
Height and fixing
The pole is telescopic, so the overall height can be set anywhere from 201 to 292 cm — compare that with the eaves, tree canopies or windows near where it will stand. The set weighs 17.14 kg.
The base is bolted down through three ø10.5 mm holes set at 120° on a ø240 mm circle. Foundation and anchors are not included: the manufacturer sells a concrete foundation (7668), a concreting anchor (305), a ground anchor (306), a concrete foundation adapter (108) and a mounting adapter (6010) separately.
Lamps and light
Each of the three lanterns has an E27 socket for an LED lamp of up to 9 W, so three lamps in total, none of them supplied. The user replaces them. The panes are clear and the light is unshielded, so the lamp stays visible — its shape and colour are part of how the lantern looks. Lamps of 2700–3000 K give a warm, yellowish light that suits the classic form.
Durability and wiring
IP54 means protection against dust and splashing water from any direction, which is enough for use in the open. The polycarbonate panes are UV-stabilised, so they resist yellowing in the sun, and if one is damaged the manufacturer supplies the shade as a service kit (06380004). The lamp post is protection class II — double insulation means no protective earth is needed.
The terminals take conductors up to 4×2.5 mm², and further lamp posts can be looped through with the same cross-section, so a row along a driveway or avenue runs off one supply line. The cable gland takes round cable of 6–12.5 mm diameter. The manufacturer intends it for gardens and parks, and it also suits terraces, hotels and restaurants.
