Nora 2485AL Aluminium LED Outdoor Wall Light by NORLYS

The Nora 2485AL is a square outdoor wall light, 13 cm per side and 5 cm deep, cast in aluminium and powder-coated in aluminium RAL 9006. Light leaves through two slots behind satin safety glass — one at the top, one at the bottom — so the fitting draws two symmetrical bands on the wall rather than one.

Size, fixing and wiring

The body covers 13 × 13 cm of wall, projects 5 cm from it and weighs 0.85 kg. It fixes with two screws through ø5 mm holes spaced 63 × 112 mm — the figure to compare with the plugs already set in your wall.

The fitting is protection class I, so an earth conductor has to reach the back box and an electrician should make the connection. The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm², and the maker allows further fittings to be looped through with up to 3 × 1.5 mm². A row of these along a facade therefore runs off one supply rather than one per point; a B 16 A breaker carries 60 of them.

How much light it gives and how to set it

At its full 15 W the luminaire delivers 679 lm at 3000 K — warm white, close to a traditional incandescent lamp — with Ra 80. Half the output goes up and half down (ULOR 50%).

Power is selected with a switch on the driver, anywhere between 10.9 W and 15 W. The factory setting is 10.9 W, so the brightness quoted above is reached only after changing it during installation. The luminaire is also phase-dimmable and works with trailing edge (TE) and leading edge (LE) dimmers alike, including older ones.

Build and outdoor use

IP65 means it withstands water jets and dust, so it suits an unsheltered wall; IK09 describes the housing's impact resistance. A silicone gasket under the cover keeps it sealed.

The electronic driver is built in and does not have to be bought separately. The LED module and the control gear are replaceable by a professional service, so a failed light source does not end the fitting's life. The maker intends it for lighting wall surfaces and facades.
