Nordlux Fremont 2310036003 LED recessed downlights, set of 3, 2700K IP65, black

Nordlux Fremont 2310036003 is a set of three black recessed LED downlights. Each circular surround frames a tilting light source, allowing the direction of the beam to be adjusted after installation. The construction combines metal and plastic; viewed from below, the visible fitting is a plain black ring around the reflector.

Three separate points of warm light

The set includes three integrated LED sources rated at 4.5 W each. A colour temperature of 2700 K produces warm white light, while the 36° beam is more concentrated than light from a broad diffusing shade. Tilting the centre lets you direct that beam towards a selected part of the interior. For a living room, bedroom or hallway, the positions and spacing of the individual fittings therefore matter as well as their number.

Brightness can be adjusted continuously using a wall dimmer. These are not fittings for replaceable bulbs: the LEDs are built in and cannot be changed separately. At the end of the light source's working life, the complete fitting must be replaced. Nordlux specifies an LED lifespan of 25,000 hours.

Check the cut-out and ceiling space

The outer diameter is 8.5 cm, but the required mounting hole is 7.2 cm across. The fitting itself is 5.4 cm high; the installation drawing shows a required mounting space 6.8 cm high. Compare these dimensions with your ceiling construction before making the openings, and retain the clearances shown in the instructions. The downlights must not be covered with thermal insulation or mounted directly into it. Parallel connection is possible.

Bathroom use and restrained styling

Nordlux identifies Fremont as suitable for bathrooms. IP65 applies to the room-facing side; the installation instructions mark the area above the ceiling as IP20. A qualified installer should determine the location and circuit protection in accordance with local regulations.

The undecorated black surrounds suit modern, modernist and minimalist interiors. Rather than hanging into the room as a decorative pendant, these fittings become part of the ceiling plane, with the emphasis on the circular frame and directed light.
