Alta 1479BL is an 85 cm bollard light made of hot-dip galvanised steel, powder-coated black (RAL 9005). The top is formed by several horizontal louvre rings set over an opal PMMA diffuser, and the base is 15 cm wide.
What light it gives
The integrated Philips Fortimo LED module draws 8.5 W and the luminaire emits 146 lm. The louvres shield the source from above and spread the light symmetrically all round the bollard, so this is orientation lighting: it marks the edge of a path, steps or an entrance rather than lighting a whole driveway. The opal diffuser softens the light and limits glare as you walk past.
3000 K is warm white light, and CRI 80 renders the colours of paving and planting faithfully. The luminaire can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, trailing edge or leading edge (TRIAC).
Installation
The bollard is fixed with three bolts through ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. Anchoring parts are not included: the manufacturer sells a concrete anchor (205), a ground anchor (206), a concrete-foundation adapter (206S) and mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086GA separately – the choice depends on the ground.
The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm² and allow loop-through to further bollards at up to 2 × 2.5 mm². Protection class II means no protective earth conductor is needed. The bollard weighs 9.3 kg.
Durability and servicing
IP65 and a silicone gasket keep rain and water jets out, and IK08 protects against accidental knocks. The manufacturer states an L80B20 LED lifetime of over 50,000 hours and the same for the driver; the LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service.
