Alta 293BL Bollard Light 49 cm E27 Black RAL 9005 by NORLYS

Alta 293BL is a low bollard light made of hot-dip galvanised steel and finished in black (RAL 9005). It stands 49 cm tall with a 15 cm diameter, and its head is formed by horizontal louvres with an opal PMMA diffuser behind them. The louvres shield the light source from above, so the light spreads around the bollard and down onto the ground.

Light source and output

Inside is an E27 socket for an A55–A60 LED bulb of up to 9 W. The bulb is not included, so you choose brightness and colour yourself — for a narrow path, warm light of 2700–3000 K is usually enough. The bulb is user-replaceable, no service visit needed. The opal diffuser spreads the light so the bulb does not glare at someone looking from the side.

Installation and wiring

The bollard is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. No anchor is included: the manufacturer sells separately a concrete-in anchor (205), a ground spike anchor (206), a concrete foundation adapter (206S) and mounting adapters (3080GA, 3086). The fitting weighs 5.28 kg.

It is protection class II, so no earth conductor is required. The terminals take up to 3 × 4 mm², and the supply can be looped on to the next bollard with up to 3 × 2.5 mm² — several bollards along one path can run in series from a single line. The round-sheathed cable may be up to 12.5 mm in diameter.

Where it fits

IP65 means a dust-tight housing protected against water jets, and IK08 means resistance to 5 J impacts, which matters for a bollard at roughly knee height when mowing or clearing snow. It suits a driveway, a terrace, a restaurant garden or hotel grounds.
