Alta 1453BL bollard light, 49 cm, E27, impregnated pine, black RAL 9005 – NORLYS

Alta 1453BL is a low bollard light that pairs wood with metal: the shaft is impregnated Scandinavian pine, while the head with its horizontal louvres and the lower ring are hot-dip galvanised steel, the head additionally powder-coated black (RAL 9005). Under the louvres sits a milky PMMA diffuser.

Size and mounting

The bollard is 49 cm high and 15 cm in diameter and weighs 4.65 kg. It is fixed with three bolts through ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle. Nothing for anchoring it in the ground is included: Norlys sells concreting anchor 205, ground anchor 206, concrete-foundation adapter 206S and mounting adapters 3080GA and 3086 separately, and one of them has to be matched to the ground it will stand in.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and let you loop the supply on to the next bollard with cable up to 3 × 1.5 mm², so a row of bollards along a path or drive can run on one circuit. Round cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter can be fed in.

Bulb and light

The fitting has an E27 socket and takes an A55–A60 shaped LED bulb of up to 9 W. The bulb is not included and has to be bought separately; you replace it yourself. Norlys suggests the dimmable Philips Master LEDbulb 8.5 W, 806 lm, 2700 K – roughly the light of an old 60 W bulb, in a warm colour.

The louvres shield the source from above, and the light spreads evenly around the bollard and downwards. ULOR is 11%, so only a small share of the output goes up into the sky.

Durability

IP65 means fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 means it withstands impacts of up to 5 joules, which matters beside a drive or a pavement. Protection class II means no earth conductor is needed. Norlys designed it for private grounds and public areas.
