Norlys Borg Bollard 6183AL LED bollard light, 16.3 W 4000 K DALI2, 85 cm, light grey RAL 9006

Borg Bollard 6183AL is an 85 cm bollard light. A cylindrical 7.6 cm stem is topped by a flat, round 20 cm disc, and the light comes out beneath it through a satin PMMA diffuser. The powder-coated cast aluminium body is light grey RAL 9006.

How big it is and where it fits

The 85 cm height and 20 cm disc are the figures to compare with the spot by a path, a driveway or a building entrance. The manufacturer designed the bollard for gardens, other private grounds and public areas, and the catalogue lists it for gardens and hotel and restaurant surroundings. A flat disc on a straight, unadorned stem is a modern shape.

No anchoring hardware is included: ground anchor 202GA and concrete anchor 203ZX are sold separately. The terminals are five-pole, up to 5 × 2.5 mm², and let both the mains and the control line loop on to the next fitting, so a whole row of bollards runs on one cable. Round-sheathed cable can be 7–13.5 mm in diameter. Inrush current is 15 A for 295 µs, which needs to be allowed for when sizing the breaker for a longer run.

How much light it gives

The fitting draws 16.3 W and delivers 1521 lm from a 2508 lm LED module. 4000 K is neutral white, and CRI 80 renders colours correctly for everyday use. The light spreads rotationally symmetrically, evenly all round the bollard, and a ULOR of 0.4% means only a negligible share goes above the fitting.

The driver works on DALI2 with the NightDim function and leaves the factory set to maximum current; other parameters are programmed by the manufacturer on request. Dimming over DALI needs a controller for that system – an ordinary wall dimmer will not work here. Standby power is 0.5 W. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service; the module is rated for over 52,600 h at L90 and the driver for 100,000 h.

Build

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 means increased impact resistance. Protection class I requires an earth connection, and surge immunity is 6/10 kV. The gasket is silicone. The Borg series offers the same bollard in graphite, at 3000 K and in 35, 55 and 105 cm heights.
