Molde 1973 is a 50 cm bollard light whose head curves out over the path. The body is cast aluminium, powder-coated in aluminium colour (RAL 9006), and the diffuser under the head is clear, textured, UV-stabilised polycarbonate. An LED module and a PIR motion sensor are built in, so no bulb is needed.
How it lights and when it switches on
The light is diffused and shielded from above: a ULOR of 2% and a BUG rating of B0-U1-G0 mean almost all of it falls down onto the path and the lawn beside the bollard rather than into the sky or the neighbours' windows. It gives 438 lm from 8.2 W at 4000 K, a neutral white in which plants and paving keep their natural colour. CRI is 80.
The PIR sensor has a dusk switch and a motion hold. It leaves the factory set to maximum range, one minute of light and a 10 lx dusk threshold: after dark the bollard comes on when someone walks past and goes off one minute after movement stops. Norlys programs other sensor settings to order.
Mounting and wiring
The bollard is 11 cm wide and the head reaches out 16.5 cm. The base is bolted down through four ø7 mm holes spaced 18×50 mm. Anchors and adapters are not included: Norlys sells a concrete anchor (1907), a ground anchor (1908) and mounting adapters separately, so the fixing method needs deciding before ordering.
The fitting is protection class I and needs a protective earth. The terminals take conductors up to 4×4 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to the next bollard (up to 4×2.5 mm²), so several bollards along a path can share one cable. The gland takes round cable of 4–8 mm, 8–12 mm or 10–13.6 mm diameter. IP54 protects against splashing water from any direction, and impact resistance is IK07.
Where it fits
Norlys designed the Molde range for private grounds and parks: beside a garden path, on a terrace, in a park or at the entrance to a hotel or restaurant. The plain, angular body with its curved head suits modern architecture.
