Rena 1633GR is a square drive-over light set flush into the ground: a 13 × 13 cm front of powder-coated cast aluminium in graphite RAL 7016, with four screws in the corners and a round satin polycarbonate diffuser. The body sinks 15.7 cm into the ground, leaving only the flat, unornamented front at surface level.
How it lights and what it is for
Norlys describes the Rena 1633 as an orientation light. Light leaves through four side openings while the top is covered, so it does not shine into the eyes of passers-by or into the sky, only onto the surface right next to the fitting (BUG rating B0-U2-G0). A Philips MASTER LED ExpertColor GU10 5.5 W lamp is included, with a colour temperature of 3000 K – warm white – and a colour rendering index of Ra 90. The lamp itself produces 375 lm, but 13 lm leave the luminaire: the brightness of a marker that traces the edge of a driveway, path or steps, not lighting for a whole area.
The luminaire can be dimmed with a trailing-edge (TE) or leading-edge (LE) phase dimmer. During the warranty period the GU10 lamp may only be replaced by an authorised service or by the manufacturer.
Where it can be driven over
The light carries loads up to 1000 kg and is designed to be driven over by vehicles on pneumatic tyres, so a car can roll over it on a driveway. The manufacturer excludes installation in traffic lanes where wheels brake, accelerate or turn: the horizontal forces this creates can damage the fitting.
IP68 protection (immersion to 1 m) means the fitting also withstands water standing in a dip in the surface after rain, and IK10 means resistance to an impact of 20 J. The diffuser is UV-stabilised, and sealing comes from a silicone gasket and a nickel-plated brass cable gland.
Installation and connection
The front is fixed through three ø4.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø100 mm circle – into a box set in the ground according to the manufacturer's instructions, or into a suitably prepared hole in wood. The luminaire comes with a 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable ending in a THB.391.R4A.L cable connector. The 145ZX0009 and 146ZX0009 connection boxes are sold separately. It is a protection class I luminaire, so the protective earth conductor must be connected. It weighs 1.05 kg.
