Rena 1760ST is a drive-over light set into the ground: only a round stainless-steel front 13 cm across, with a window of clear safety glass, shows on the surface. Below it sits a powder-coated cast-aluminium body reaching 15.7 cm deep.
Where it can be installed and what it withstands
Vehicles on pneumatic tyres can drive over it, and the manufacturer gives a maximum load of 2000 kg – a figure to compare with the weight of the vehicle that will cross it. Norlys states that it must not be fitted in traffic lanes, where hard braking, accelerating and turning would load it sideways. The catalogue lists it for driveways and gardens and for hotel and restaurant surroundings.
The IP68 rating (to 1 m) means it stays sealed even under standing water, and IK09 impact resistance protects the glass in a surface that is walked and driven on.
What light it gives
The integrated LED module draws 4.2 W and the fitting delivers 328 lm at 3000 K, a warm white, with Ra 80. All the light goes upwards in a symmetrical 36° beam, so it works as an orientation marker in the paving or as an uplight.
It is phase-dimmable and works with both trailing-edge (TE) and leading-edge (LE) dimmers. The LED module can be replaced only by a professional service, for which Norlys supplies the ZS1760 service kit; rated module life is over 59,000 h (L70).
Mounting and connection
The front is fixed with three screws – ø4.5 mm holes at 120° on a ø100 mm circle – into the supplied housing set in the ground as the instructions describe, or into a suitably prepared hole in timber. A 1 m H05BQ-F 3G1 cable leaves the fitting, ending in a THB.391.R4A.L cable connector; the 145 and 146 connection boxes are sold separately. It is a protection class I luminaire and needs a protective earth conductor.
