AMALFI L 8381 is a pendant light with a bell-shaped shade of gold metallised glass, 30 cm in diameter and 22 cm high. The shade hangs from a black steel stirrup bracket with a solid brass detail, and the cable and ceiling canopy are black.

How big it is and how to hang it

At 30 cm across, the shade is smaller than the usual 40 cm over an 80–90 cm wide table, so over a longer table or a kitchen island two or three of these are usually hung in a row. Overall height is up to 170 cm, and the manufacturer allows it to be shortened only by a qualified electrician. Over a table the lower edge of the shade typically sits 70–80 cm above the top.

The light is fixed to the ceiling on a mounting bridge, and the mounting kit is included. It weighs 2.34 kg. It is protection class I, so the ceiling box needs an earth conductor.

Which bulb to use

The fitting has one E27 lampholder, and no bulb is included. The manufacturer allows LED lamps of up to 25 W only — incandescent and halogen bulbs are ruled out. The colour and brightness of the light therefore come from the LED bulb you choose; for dining and living rooms, 2700–3000 K, a warm, slightly yellowish light, is the usual pick.
