MONO 7711 is a floor lamp with a single tube-shaped spotlight in solid brass, mounted on a slim black stand of lacquered steel. The stand curves over at the top and rests on a flat rectangular base measuring 27 × 15 cm. The lamp is made by Nowodvorski in Poland.

How big it is and where it goes

The lamp is 120–130 cm tall, and the spotlight at the end of the curve can be pointed down at a book or a side table. The base takes up 27 × 15 cm of floor, a figure to compare with the space beside your furniture. The cable to the plug is 170 cm long and the lamp runs from an ordinary socket, with no electrician needed.

The switch is on the spotlight itself, so you turn the light on where your hand already is when setting its direction. The light point rotates through 90° and 345°, letting you light a chair, a wall or a picture without moving the whole lamp.

Which bulb to choose

The lampholder is GU10 in the R50 format, meaning a reflector bulb 50 mm in diameter. No bulb is included. The manufacturer allows LED sources only, up to 10 W, so halogen is ruled out in the closed metal tube. Colour temperature and beam angle are therefore your choice; for reading, 2700–3000 K is the usual pick.

Changing the bulb is made easier by the manufacturer's patented On Click system: the tube covering the lamp slides off in one movement. An Allen key for assembling the stand is in the box. The lamp is protection class II, so it needs no earth, and it is for indoor use only.

The manufacturer places MONO in the glamour style: the polished brass spotlight contrasts with the matt black stand while the form itself stays simple and modern. It works in a living room, bedroom, dining room or study, and in hotels or restaurants, anywhere focused light is needed at one particular spot.
