A pendant for magnetic track, not for a ceiling box

This is the first thing to know before buying: the M0012D does not wire into a ceiling rose. It belongs to the Maxlight magnetic system and draws its supply from a 48 V track — you offer it up and the magnets align it and close the contacts. Without a track and driver installed it will not work at all. In exchange, moving it along the run or swapping it for a spotlight takes seconds, with no tools and no need to isolate the circuit.

A narrow cylinder, 75 cm from the ceiling

The fitting itself is a slim aluminium cylinder 30 cm long, finished in black, hung on a thin 45 cm lead — 75 cm in total from the plane of the track. The proportion has a purpose: a single vertical element reads as a line rather than a mass, so several of these in a row over a kitchen island do not crowd the space the way conventional shades do.

28° — this is an accent fitting

The LED module draws 3.8 W and gives 317 lm at a warm 3000 K. The decisive figure, though, is the 28° beam: a narrow cone that draws a clearly bounded pool on the worktop rather than lighting a whole room. Over an island or a bar that produces a spotlight effect — a bright circle on the surface and darker surroundings. For general room lighting you need either more points or the linear elements of the same system.

CRI 90 and DALI control

Colour rendering of CRI 90 puts the fitting well above the market standard of 80 — with light aimed at a kitchen worktop or a table, that difference is visible to the naked eye on food and on timber. The fitting is dimmable to the DALI standard, not by an ordinary phase dimmer: control is digital, over the bus, which lets you assign it to a group, set scenes, and regulate it independently of the neighbouring points on the same track.

Safety and energy class

The whole system runs at 48 V — safe extra-low voltage, so touching the live track contacts is not dangerous, one of the main arguments for magnetic track in homes with children. IP20 restricts the fitting to dry interiors. Energy efficiency class: G — on narrow-beam accent fittings that follows from the optics rather than from poor diodes.
