Quintiesse Somerset ceiling light, opal glass and Heritage Brass, 1×E27

Quintiesse Somerset pairs an opal glass globe with an open steel frame in Heritage Brass. A curved arch rises over the white shade, while a horizontal ring and small turned metal details outline its lower half. This single-light ceiling fitting is the QN-SOMERSET-F-O-HB variant, with one E27 socket.

Check the space below the ceiling

The fitting measures 282 mm in diameter and 318 mm in height. Compare that drop with the clearance above walkways and opening doors before choosing a mounting position. Its height is fixed: a short rigid connection leads to the round ceiling plate rather than an adjustable pendant cable.

Somerset is an interior fitting for general overhead lighting in a hallway, corridor, dressing room or stairwell, as well as a living room, bedroom or dining room. It is not an adjustable spotlight. In a larger space, assess the chosen bulb's output alongside other light fittings rather than assuming that the diameter of the shade establishes how much of the room it can illuminate.

Choose the E27 bulb separately

No bulb is supplied. The single E27 socket accepts a suitable replaceable bulb rated at no more than 60 W. This figure is the permitted lamp wattage, not a fixed energy consumption for the fitting. The bulb you select determines brightness and colour temperature, so those characteristics can be considered separately from the brass-finish frame.

Opal glass obscures the bulb and diffuses its light. The manufacturer specifies compatibility with dimmable lamps. If dimming is required, select a dimmable bulb and a matching dimming system; an E27 socket alone does not make every bulb dimmable.

A visible frame around white glass

The globe, arch and narrow rings give the fitting a geometric outline without a fabric shade. Heritage Brass and the turned details support classic, modern classic and retro interiors. The frame is steel: brass describes its finish, not the material of the entire structure. This version uses opal glass, rather than the transparent glass found on other Somerset variants.
