s.luce Ranya LED Pendant Light 160 cm Aluminium, Clear Glass, Dimmable with Remote

The s.luce Ranya is a pendant light shaped as a plain horizontal tube, 160 cm long and 7 cm across. A thick-walled, mouth-blown cover in clear glass wraps the brushed aluminium body, so the light strip inside stays visible. The fitting throws light downwards and upwards at the same time.

How big it is and where to hang it

The tube measures 160 cm — a figure worth holding against the length of your own table or kitchen island, so the fitting does not stop halfway across the top. At 7 cm across the body stays slim and leaves the view over the table open.

The pendant hangs on 140 cm cables that are cut to the height you need during installation; the manufacturer lists height adjustment as a feature of the fitting. Over a table the bottom edge usually sits 70–80 cm above the top — light then covers the whole surface without shining into the eyes of people seated. The canopy measures Ø 7 × 18 cm and the whole fitting weighs 1.4 kg.

How much light it gives and how it is controlled

The built-in LED module draws 42 W and delivers 2500 lm, roughly what three old 60 W bulbs used to give. 2700 K is warm, slightly yellowish light, and a colour rendering index above Ra 90 means food and furnishings keep their true colours. The beam spreads at 120°.

The light source is included and built into the fitting — there is no bulb to buy. A remote control is in the box as well: it switches and dims the lamp, and the upward and downward light are controlled separately. The manufacturer rates the module at 25 000 hours.

What it is made of and where it can hang

The cover is mouth-blown, thick-walled glass, so every piece differs in detail. The body is metal with an aluminium finish, and plastic is used in the construction as well. The manufacturer intends the Ranya for indoor use only.

Which interior it is meant for

The manufacturer points this fitting over the dining table, over the kitchen island and over the desk — into a study, an office, a living room and a bedroom. The form is modern and minimalist: one straight tube without ornament, a single finish and thin suspension cables.
