Sol 4056GR Outdoor LED Ceiling Light, Graphite RAL 7016, Ø20 cm, 4000 K, DALI2 – NORLYS

The Sol 4056GR is an outdoor LED ceiling light shaped as a low cylinder 20 cm in diameter and 11 cm high. The body is an extruded aluminium profile powder-coated graphite (RAL 7016), closed underneath by a clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate diffuser sealed with a silicone gasket.

How much light and of what kind

The source is a built-in Philips Fortimo DLM Flex LED module with an electronic driver inside the fitting. The light draws 19.1 W and, according to the manufacturer, delivers 2421 lm at 4000 K, a neutral white – enough to be the main light of a covered terrace or an entrance rather than a mood light. CRI 80 renders colours well, and SDCM3 colour consistency means several of these fittings side by side shine in practically the same tint.

The light is symmetrical and directed downwards. A ULOR of 0.3% and a BUG rating of B1-U1-G0 mean only a negligible fraction escapes upwards, so the fitting does not light up the sky or the windows on the floor above.

Control and connection

This version has a DALI2-controlled driver. Brightness is set by a DALI2 controller connected through a separate pair of control wires – an ordinary phase dimmer in the circuit will not work. The fitting runs on 220–240 V mains, and the manufacturer also allows a DC 176–280 V supply.

It is a Class I fitting, so it must be connected to a protective earth. The terminals take up to five 2.5 mm² conductors, and wires up to 1.5 mm² let you loop the supply on to the next fitting; the gland suits round cable 7–10.5 mm in diameter. It is fixed to the ceiling through two ø5 mm holes 100 mm apart, and installation should be done by a suitably qualified person.

Where it can be used

IP65 means the fitting is fully dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK10 is the highest impact-resistance class on that scale. The manufacturer designed it for gardens, private grounds and architectural applications; its plain, contemporary form suits the ceiling of a terrace, a gazebo or an arcade. The LED module and driver are replaced by a professional service (kits ZS4044ZX0009 and ZS4047ZX0009), and the manufacturer rates the module at more than 50,000 hours at L70.
