A table lamp, not a floor lamp
Nixon stands 54 cm tall — a lamp for a sideboard, a console, a bedside table or the end of a sofa, not a fitting that stands on the floor. The oval shade measures 20 × 38 cm, wide and shallow, so the lamp takes up a good deal of width on a surface and little depth; it sits well against a wall, where the oval lies parallel to it.
Brass, crystal and a silky shade
The base is steel in a brass-effect plate with crystal glass detailing that refracts the light and throws small reflections onto the surface below. The shade in vintage white is made from a silk-finish fabric — a cream white with a slightly muted, aged tone tuned to the warm gold of the base. It is a combination from the classical register, closer to hotel style than to minimalism.
Two E14 candle lamps
The lamp takes two E14 candle lamps of up to 40 W each. Bulbs are not included; the manufacturer notes it is suitable for LED lamps — with two points rated at 40 W, warm-white LEDs of 4–6 W already give enough light to read by beside an armchair. Two sources rather than one spread the light more evenly under a wide oval shade.
Inline switch
An inline switch is supplied — the lamp is switched at the lamp, without reaching for a socket or a wall switch. A small thing, but decisive for a bedside lamp or one placed far from a switch. The cable is black.
Safety and care
The fitting is class II, double-insulated — no earth conductor is required, which simplifies use with older sockets. IP20 means dry rooms. Dust the fabric shade with a soft brush and wipe the crystal parts with a dry microfibre cloth; avoid alcohol-based cleaners, which dull the brass plating. The manufacturer gives a 2-year warranty; the lamp is made in China.
