The NUMINOS S 3Ph. DALI is a spotlight for 3-circuit track, with a cylindrical aluminium body in matt white and a black reflector ring around the optic. The track adapter is part of the fitting, and the head sits on a short arm that lets it rotate and tilt.

Size and the track it fits

The fitting is 16.2 cm long and 6.5 cm in diameter, 14.5 cm tall including the adapter, and weighs 0.579 kg. This is size S, the smallest in the NUMINOS family, so several spots fit side by side on a short run of track.

The adapter goes only into the 3-circuit S-TRACK DALI system in the Eurostandard (EUTRAC) profile, and it enters the track in one orientation only. A phase selector on the adapter lets the spots on a single track be split into three separately controlled groups. The track itself and its feed are separate parts of the system.

How much light it gives and how to aim it

The built-in LED module delivers 1100 lm at 7.8 W, which the manufacturer states as 141 lm/W. An old 60 W bulb produced around 800 lm and threw it in every direction; here a 60° beam gathers the light onto a defined area below the fitting.

4000 K is neutral white light, clearly cooler than a filament bulb and without a yellow cast. A colour rendering index of Ra 90 shows shades almost as daylight does, which matters wherever the colour of goods or materials is judged. The manufacturer also quotes UGR 19, the glare level required at office workstations.

The head rotates through 350° and tilts through 90°, so the beam direction is set after mounting, without sliding the fitting along the track.

Dimming, supply and installation

The manufacturer lists two dimming technologies: DALI and Touch. The first needs a DALI controller in the installation, the second a retractive push button. The fitting runs on 220-240 V and the module's secondary current is 200 mA.

The LED is permanently built in and the manufacturer states it may be replaced only by a service technician; the quoted service life is 50,000 h. The fitting is protection class I, so the track must carry a protective earth conductor. It is intended for dry indoor spaces, at ambient temperatures from -20 to 50 °C.
