The NUMINOS L 3Ph. DALI is a spotlight for three-phase track: a matt white cylinder 10 cm across with a black ring around the lens, carried on a short stem and a track adapter. The housing is aluminium and the fitting weighs 1.137 kg.

Which track it fits and what else you need

The spotlight is made for SLV's three-phase S-TRACK DALI system only: the adapter slides into the track and locks with a lever, so the track itself, the feed-in and the end caps are separate order lines. A phase selector sits on the adapter and decides which of the track's three phases this particular spotlight runs on. That is how a single run of track is split into groups that switch independently of one another.

SLV states that 94 of these fittings fit on one circuit protected by a B16A or C16A breaker.

The light it gives

The LED module delivers 2300 lm at a colour temperature of 2700 K, a warm, yellowish white. The beam is 36 degrees, so the light lands on one chosen part of the room instead of filling it evenly. A colour rendering index above 90 means fabric, wood and skin keep the colours they have in daylight. SLV declares a glare rating of 16 or less on the UGR scale, the level at which the fitting does not dazzle someone seated opposite it.

The head rotates 350 degrees horizontally and tilts 90 degrees vertically, so the aim is set once the spotlight is on the track.

Dimming and power

The fitting dims over DALI and from an ordinary retractive push button (Touch); a separate DALI lever on the adapter connects it to the control bus. The driver is built into the housing and the spotlight runs straight off 200-240 V AC mains in protection class I, so no external constant-current driver has to be bought with it.

Size and operating conditions

The cylinder is 21.3 cm long and 10 cm in diameter, and the height from track to lower edge is 18 cm, which is how far the fitting stands off the ceiling. IP20 covers dry indoor rooms, and the permitted ambient temperature runs from -20 to +50 degrees Celsius. Rated life of the module is 50 000 h, and the light source is replaceable only by a service technician, because it is not a bulb to unscrew.
