HIRO is an aluminium LED profile made to be plastered into plasterboard construction, here in the silver anodised finish and a 1 m length. Perforated mounting flanges run along both sides of the body, and the channel takes two LED strips laid side by side. Once filled, all that is left on the ceiling or wall is the lit slot, with no visible frame.
How much room it needs in the build-up
The body is 27,2 mm wide and the section spans 57,4 mm across both flanges — that is the figure the board has to allow for. The profile stands 12,0 mm above the flange plane, a height the manufacturer chose so that the fitting sits within the thickness of the build-up without cutting into the suspended ceiling frame or the wall structure.
The flanges can be screwed down through the pre-made mounting holes, which makes the profile easier to level before filling, or bedded straight into the filler, which passes through the perforations and bonds the profile to the board. The manufacturer provides for both methods.
What strip it takes and where the power sits
The data sheet gives the strip width as 2 × 12 mm: the channel holds two twelve-millimetre strips side by side, which doubles the luminous flux per metre of slot compared with a single strip. The strip is not included.
The driver goes outside the profile — the manufacturer reserves no space for it in the channel, so it needs a place outside the build-up and access for a future replacement. The profile itself is not sealed and carries IP20, which limits it to dry interiors.
What has to be bought alongside
The length is sold bare: cover, strip and end caps are separate items. HIRO takes covers from the DOUBLE range — PMMA and PC, in transparent, frosted, milky, frosted milky, black and Fractal versions. End caps are published by the manufacturer only in the version with a cable hole, in four colours. The DOUBLE plastering mask is available separately, a strip that closes the channel while the filling work is done.
Besides the 1 m length the profile is made in 2,02 m and 3 m, and non-standard lengths up to 6 m are produced to order.
