Lumines CANTO LED profile 1 m, black lacquered, external corner for plasterboard, non-perforated, 35.9 × 15.1 mm, strip up to 12 mm Special Offer

CANTO is an aluminium LED profile for the external corners of plasterboard walls. It has a triangular section with two thin wings that are buried in the skim coat, and it is lacquered black. This is the version without perforation — the wings are plain; the perforated variant of the same family is meant for installation under tiles.

The section and which strip fits

The piece spans 35.9 mm measured across both wings and stands 15.1 mm high; the corner body alone measures 13.4 mm. The wings disappear under the skim, so the first figure is the one to allow for in the build-up, while only the face of the profile remains visible once the wall is finished.

The LED strip is stuck to the angled face, which stands at an angle to both walls — hence the directional output. The manufacturer gives a maximum strip width of 12 mm, and that width is measured including the adhesive layer. This profile is 1 m long; the manufacturer also makes it in 2.02 m and 3.0 m, and to order up to 6 m.

Fitting it and joining lengths

The profile is screwed into the corner and then plastered in together with its wings, which makes it a finishing component set during the drylining stage rather than after it.

The driver sits outside the profile, so a place for it has to be planned in advance and must stay reachable once the wall is closed. The manufacturer does not provide for joining lengths: the CANTO datasheet lists no connectors, and the assembly diagrams show a single length only. A longer run therefore means separate lengths with a visible gap, or a made-to-order length.

What you buy separately

The profile is sold bare. The LED strip, the cover, the end caps and the screws are bought separately — that is exactly the set the manufacturer shows in its assembly diagram.

BASIC covers in the 1 m size come transparent, frosted, milky, frosted-milky and black. The profile on its own is classed by the manufacturer as unsealed, IP20; IP54 comes only from the sealing TERRA cover, which protects the strip from moisture — without it the profile carries no declared water resistance. For CANTO the manufacturer publishes only end caps with a cable hole, in plastic and in aluminium, so both ends of a length are closed with the same type.
