Lumines CANTO LED profile 1 m, white lacquered, external corner for plasterboard, unperforated, strip up to 12 mm Special Offer

CANTO is an aluminium LED profile for external corners, in the unperforated version, white lacquered, 1 m long. The section is triangular: two flat wings wrap the corner of a plasterboard sheet, and the LED strip sits on the sloping face between them, set at 45 degrees.

Where it goes and how it differs from the perforated version

This version is meant for plasterboard construction and for plastering over: the wings disappear into the skim coat and only the lit slot stays visible on the surface. The manufacturer also sells CANTO perforated, with holes through the wings, and that second version goes under tiles, because the perforation lets the adhesive key through. The two are not interchangeable, so the version has to be settled at the order stage.

The profile throws its light in one direction and the manufacturer intends it for decorative and accent lighting. It carries no drive-over rating, so it must not be laid into a floor that is walked or driven on.

Dimensions and which strip will fit

The section measures 35.9 mm across both wings and 15.1 mm in height; the body without the wings is 13.4 mm. It is the wings that decide the width of the recess to allow for in the build-up, not the slot that stays visible after plastering.

The maximum LED strip width is 12 mm. Measure the strip including its adhesive layer, because that layer goes into the channel with it. The profile is made in 1000, 2020 and 3000 mm lengths, and to order up to 6 m.

What has to be bought alongside

The profile is sold bare. The BASIC cover is a separate purchase, available in PMMA and PC in transparent, frosted, milky, opal and black, and so are the end caps. For the CANTO range the manufacturer publishes only caps with a cable hole, in plastic in white, black, silver and grey and in aluminium in white, black and silver.

The driver mounts outside the profile, so it needs a place found for it in the build-up in advance. The manufacturer also states that CANTO lengths are not joined into one run with connectors: a longer line is either separate lengths with a visible break or a made-to-order length. The bare profile is IP20; only the sealing TERRA cover protects the strip against moisture to IP54.
