Norlys Asker Head 4392GR is a post-top luminaire head: a flat, rectangular body 47 cm long made of extruded aluminium profile, powder-coated graphite (RAL 7016), with a sealed clear polycarbonate lens underneath. No pole is included — the fitting is mounted on a lighting pole with a Ø60 mm spigot.
Mounting on the pole
The body measures 47 × 11 × 7 cm and the whole fitting weighs 2.8 kg. Before ordering, check that the mounting spigot of your pole is 60 mm in diameter — the size the manufacturer designed this head for.
A 6 m H05BQ-F 5G1 cable leaves the fitting and is connected in a suitable junction box, usually in the base of the pole. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth conductor. The manufacturer also allows a DC supply of 168–275 V.
What light it gives
Two Philips LED modules behind a Ledil VSM lens produce 6051 lm, and the whole fitting delivers 5732 lm at 39.8 W, in 3000 K warm white. The IESNA type V distribution is symmetrical around the pole, so the head lights a round area around itself – a square, a car park or a path junction – rather than a narrow strip of road. The manufacturer gives the illuminance plot for a 6 m mounting height. CRI 70 means colour rendering good enough for finding your way outdoors, but weaker than indoor light sources.
Control is via DALI2, and the driver also supports NightDim. It leaves the factory set to maximum current, and Norlys programs other parameters by arrangement with its sales department.
Build and servicing
The body is IP65 and the optical unit itself — module and lens — IP67. IK10 impact resistance matters for lights in public places. ULOR is 0.8%, so only a negligible share of the light escapes upwards. The LED modules and driver are replaced by a professional service; the manufacturer rates the light source at L90B10 above 100,000 hours and the driver at 100,000 hours.
