NORLYS ASTRID 2219 LED bollard light, 55 cm, 14.6 W, 3000 K, white RAL 9003

ASTRID 2219 is a bollard light with a rounded-square section of 14 × 14 cm and a height of 55 cm. The body is an extruded aluminium profile, powder-coated in white RAL 9003 and fluted vertically along its whole height, and the light leaves through an opal PMMA diffuser.

What light it gives

The integrated 12 W LED module produces 2113 lm, but after the opal diffuser and the ribbed body 272 lm leave the fitting, at a draw of 14.6 W. This is soft, diffuse orientation light: it marks the edge of a path or driveway without glare, but it will not light a whole garden. At 3000 K the light is warm white, and CRI 80 lets you tell the colours of paving and plants apart.

The driver is built in, and the fitting can be dimmed with a phase-cut dimmer of either the trailing-edge or the leading-edge type. The LED module and the control gear are not disposable: a professional service replaces them, and Norlys lists a service kit for them.

Installation and wiring

The bollard is fixed with three bolts through ø9 mm holes set at 120° on a ø65 mm circle. The foundation parts are sold separately: a concreting anchor (205), a ground anchor (206), a concrete-foundation adapter (206S) or a mounting adapter (3080GA). Which one you need depends on whether the bollard stands in soil or on concrete.

The terminals take conductors up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and let you loop the supply on to the next fitting with the same cross-section, so a row of bollards along a path runs from one line. The round-sheathed cable may be up to ø12.5 mm. The luminaire is protection class I and must be connected to a protective earth conductor.

Where it fits

IP65 means full protection against dust and water jets, so the bollard can stand outdoors without any cover. The IK10 impact rating matters by a driveway, on a terrace or along a street, where a bollard can be hit by a wheel, a mower or a ball. The plain fluted form suits modern and Scandinavian schemes, and the white finish works well with light-coloured façades. The bollard weighs 4.3 kg.
