Halmstad 5022 is an 85 cm bollard light with a square 12 × 12 cm post made of hot-dip galvanised steel. The head is an opal acrylic (PMMA) diffuser surrounded by horizontal louvres and closed by a flat top. The fitting has a built-in LED module, so there is no bulb to buy.
How big it is and how it is installed
The bollard stands 85 cm tall and the post measures 12 cm on each side – figures to compare with the width of the path or border it will stand beside. The fitting weighs about 13.2 kg. The Halmstad range also comes in 49 cm and 26 cm heights when a lower light point is needed.
The base is bolted down through three ø9 mm holes set 120° apart on a ø65 mm circle. The concreting anchor, ground anchor, concrete foundation adapter and mounting adapters are not included – the manufacturer sells them separately and you choose them to suit the ground. The terminals take conductors up to 2 × 4 mm², and looping through to the next fitting is possible with up to 2 × 2.5 mm², so several bollards can be connected in series on one line. The cable needs a round sheath no more than 12.5 mm in diameter. According to the manufacturer's manual, the connection is made by a licensed electrician.
How much light it gives
The LED module draws 8.5 W and the whole fitting gives 310 lm. That is orientation light – it marks a path, an entrance or the edge of a driveway rather than lighting the whole garden. 4000 K is neutral white with no yellow tint. Light leaves sideways through the louvres and is strongest in the horizontal direction.
The fitting can be dimmed with a TRIAC phase dimmer, leading or trailing edge. The LED module may only be replaced by a service agent or a qualified electrician; the manufacturer rates it at L70 above 50,000 hours, the point at which output falls to 70% of its initial value.
Where it can stand
IP65 means dust-tight and protected against water jets from any direction, so the bollard can stand outdoors without any cover. Impact resistance IK10 (20 J) matters beside paths and driveways, where the bollard may get knocked. The fitting is Class II, so it needs no earth conductor, and it works in temperatures from -20 to +45 °C. It is intended for gardens and for the grounds of hotels and restaurants. The plain square form with louvres and the raw zinc finish fit a Scandinavian style.
