Norlys Borg Bollard 6120AL LED bollard light, 16.1 W 3000 K, 35 cm, light grey RAL 9006

Borg Bollard 6120AL is a low 35 cm bollard light. A cylindrical 7.6 cm stem is topped by a flat, round 20 cm disc, and the light comes out beneath it through a satin PMMA diffuser. The powder-coated cast aluminium body is light grey RAL 9006.

How big it is and where it fits

The 35 cm height and 20 cm disc are the figures to compare with the spot by a path, beside garden steps or along the edge of a bed. The manufacturer designed the bollard for gardens and other private grounds as well as public areas, and the catalogue lists it for gardens and hotel and restaurant surroundings. A flat disc on a straight, unadorned stem is a modern shape.

No anchoring hardware is included: ground anchor 202GA, concrete foundation adapter 201GA and concrete anchor 203ZX are sold separately. The terminals take cable up to 3 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to loop on (up to 3 × 1.5 mm²), so a row of bollards runs from one line. The manufacturer also states how many fittings one circuit breaker can carry: B10A – 31, B16A – 50, C10A – 52, C16A – 58. These figures allow for the drivers' inrush current, so they help plan a longer run without nuisance tripping.

How much light it gives

The fitting draws 16.1 W and delivers 1358 lm from a 2093 lm LED module. 3000 K is warm white, and CRI 80 renders colours correctly for everyday use. The light spreads rotationally symmetrically, evenly all round the bollard, and a ULOR of 0% means nothing shines above the fitting, so no light reaches windows or the sky.

The fitting can be dimmed with a phase dimmer, either trailing edge (TE) or leading edge (LE). The LED module and driver are built in but replaceable: both are changed by a professional service, and the manufacturer offers a service kit for them. The module is rated for over 52,600 h at L90 and the driver for 50,000 h.

Build

IP65 means the fitting is dust-tight and protected against water jets, and IK08 means increased impact resistance. Protection class I requires an earth connection. The gasket is silicone. The Borg series offers the same bollard in graphite and corten steel, in 4000 K and DALI2 versions and in 55, 85 and 105 cm heights.
