MONO 7770 is a 200 cm ceiling bar with six cylindrical spotlights arranged in pairs at the start, the middle and the end of the beam. The body and the spots are made of painted black steel, and the insides of the tubes have a gold finish. The light is made in Poland.
Size and installation
The beam measures 200 Γ 4 Γ 2 cm, and with the spots the whole fitting takes up 200β214 cm in length and 8β13 cm in height, depending on how the tubes are set. Each tube is 5.5 cm across and 10.5 cm long and can be tilted to aim the light at a wall, a picture or a worktop. Compare the 2 m length with the room: the bar works along a corridor, above a long table or across the middle of a living room.
The bar is fixed to the ceiling on a mounting bridge. The box contains mounting brackets, an Allen key and instructions. The fitting is protection class I, so it needs a protective earth conductor, and it is for indoor use only.
Which light sources to buy
Bulbs are not included β you need six GU10 lamps in R50 format, i.e. reflector lamps 50 mm in diameter. The manufacturer allows only LED lamps of up to 10 W per point, because a closed metal tube cannot shed the heat of a halogen. Colour temperature and beam angle are therefore chosen with the lamps.
The six points are divided into two sections of three. With two live conductors at the fitting and a double switch, half of the spots can be switched on separately; with a single ordinary live wire they all light together.
Style and use
Nowodvorski describes MONO as a modern fitting: a plain black beam and smooth tubes without ornament, with the gold visible only from the front. The bar suits a living room, dining room, kitchen, bedroom or hallway, as well as an office, a study or an attic, where the movable tubes can light sloping ceilings.
