Oslo 242 is a garden lantern sold as a set: two Oslo heads on a two-arm bracket, mounted on a telescopic lighting pole. Each head has a shade of several flat, overlapping discs 28.5 cm in diameter, and the arms span 78 cm.
Height and installation
The pole is telescopic, so the lantern height is set on site, and the lowest position is 1.7 m. The set consists of the luminaire and the pole; the pole base has three ø10.5 mm holes spaced at 120° on a ø207 mm circle. The parts for anchoring it in the ground – a concrete-foundation adapter, a cast-in anchor or a ground anchor – are ordered separately.
Light sources
The lantern has two E27 sockets and takes two LED bulbs of up to 9 W each. The manufacturer allows bulbs in the A55–A60 shape, so a wider decorative bulb is not intended. Bulbs are not included, so you choose their colour temperature and brightness yourself. The light is directed symmetrically downwards, beneath the lantern.
Build and use
The structure is hot-dip galvanised steel and powder-coated steel, and the diffusers are clear UV-stabilised polycarbonate. IP55 means protection against dust and water jets, so the lantern stands outdoors without shelter. It is a protection class II fitting and needs no earth conductor. The manufacturer intends it for lighting gardens and parks, and the shade is available as a service kit. The shade of overlapping discs is the Scandinavian design the manufacturer names for this luminaire.
