Norlys BERN 675BL Outdoor Wall Light, LED 11.2 W 3000 K, HF Motion Sensor, Black, IP54

BERN 675BL is an outdoor wall light from the Danish maker Norlys — a square fitting 24.5 × 24.5 cm and only 12 cm deep, mounted flat against the wall. The backplate is cast aluminium, the front hot-dip galvanised steel powder-coated black, and the whole is closed by satin safety glass that diffuses the light and hides the LED module.

The motion sensor — the point of this index

This is the version with a built-in microwave (HF) motion sensor. Norlys themselves mark index 675 in their catalogue as "Sensor HF: Yes". The sensor works together with a dusk switch: the fitting only comes on after dark, and only when movement enters its range, and further movement holds the light on instead of letting it cut out halfway across the path. A microwave sensor, unlike infrared, does not depend on a temperature difference and works as reliably in summer as in frost — which matters for a fitting expected to run through a Scandinavian winter.

The light

The LED module draws 11.2 W and gives 819 lm at 3000 K warm white, at about 73 lm/W with a colour rendering index of CRI 80. Colour consistency is specified at SDCM 3 — tight enough that several fittings on one façade will show no visible difference in the shade of white. The glare classification BUG B0-U2-G1 means zero backlight, limited uplight and low glare — relevant if a neighbour's window faces yours. Declared life is 50,000 hours to L70B50.

Durability

The IP54 rating gives practical dust protection and resistance to splashing water from any direction, which is entirely sufficient for a façade. Mechanical resistance IK07 corresponds to a 2 J impact — roughly a half-kilo object dropped from half a metre. Sealing is by silicone gasket. Power factor 0.9. The fitting is manufactured in Denmark.

Installation

Fixing is through two ø4.5 mm holes spaced 170 × 50 mm. Net weight 3.16 kg — substantial for the size, because the construction is metal throughout. 230 V supply, energy efficiency class E.
