Skara 2938AL bollard light, LED 4000 K, DALI2, light grey RAL 9006 – Norlys

Skara 2938AL is an 85 cm bollard light made from an extruded aluminium profile, powder-coated in light grey RAL 9006. The 12 × 24 cm body ends in a flat head that houses the LED module under a clear, sealed PMMA lens. The light falls downwards onto the ground in front of the bollard.

Size and installation

At 85 cm, the bollard reaches roughly to an adult's hip, and its 12 × 24 cm base takes up little room at the edge of a path or driveway. It is bolted to the ground through four ø7 mm holes on a 64 × 64 mm pattern; the concreting anchor (2934) is sold separately.

The terminals take wires up to 5 × 2.5 mm² and allow the supply to be looped on to further bollards, and the gland accepts a round cable up to 12.5 mm in diameter. The connection is made by an electrician following the manual supplied with the luminaire. The bollard weighs 5.5 kg.

Light and control

The integrated LED module draws 7.7 W, and the luminaire delivers 730 lm of 4000 K light, a neutral white, at CRI 80. That is close to an old 60 W bulb, delivered low, from a height of 85 cm. The Ledil SCL lens (IESNA Type II / III) spreads the light widely along the path and less into the area behind it, and a ULOR of 1.73% means only a tiny share of it goes up into the sky.

The driver is included, and the luminaire connects to a DALI-2 control system, where it can be dimmed and programmed; the DALI controller is chosen separately.

Durability and service

The housing is rated IP65, so it withstands rain and dust without extra shelter, and IK08 for impact resistance. Protection class II means double insulation, with no earth conductor to the luminaire. The LED module keeps 90% of its output for more than 109,000 h, and the driver is rated for 100,000 h. Both parts are replaced by an electrician and are listed by the manufacturer as separate spare parts.

The manufacturer intends Skara for gardens, terraces, driveways and roadsides. The plain, box-shaped body without decoration has a modern, Scandinavian character.
