Steinel IS 3360 PF UP is a round, concealed-wiring motion and presence detector with a white plastic housing. The PF version has an additional potential-free contact. It uses passive infrared technology and the manufacturer specifies it for ceiling installation indoors.
The housing is 12.4 cm in diameter and 7.8 cm high. Compare these dimensions with the available recess before selecting the installation point. Its IP20 rating is not evidence for locations that require protection against water.
Detection coverage and positioning
The detector has a 360° detection angle. Tangential reach is up to 20 m, or 40 m in diameter, while radial reach is 8 m in diameter. Steinel specifies a mounting-height range of 2.5–4 m and identifies 2.8 m as optimal. Those figures are useful when planning the ceiling position in a stairwell, corridor, multi-storey garage, hall or warehouse.
Masking shrouds for excluding individual detection segments are included. The detector also has sneak-by guard. Installation and electrical connection should follow the manufacturer documentation and the requirements of the particular electrical installation.
Settings and switched load
The twilight threshold is adjustable from 2 to 1000 lx, and the time setting from 5 seconds to 15 minutes. Normal mode, test mode and manual ON or ON/OFF are available. The 2000 W figure is the maximum switching load for low-voltage halogen lamps; other load types have their own manufacturer limits. Settings can be made using potentiometers or a compatible Smart Remote, which is not included. Detectors can be interconnected by cable in a master/master arrangement.
