Argon PALOMA 8503 wall and ceiling light, brushed brass and opal glass, E14, 30 cm

Argon PALOMA 8503 is a wall light that can also be fitted directly to the ceiling. A broad circular plate in brushed brass surrounds a white globe made from matt, fluted opal glass. The contrast comes from the actual construction: a flat golden-toned metal disc behind a smaller, projecting glass shade.

The fitting measures 30 cm in both height and width, with an overall depth of 15.5 cm. When planning a wall position, allow for the glass globe as well as the outline of the brass plate. Compare that projection with the available space near doors, furniture or a passageway, rather than judging clearance from a front-facing photograph alone.

The manufacturer expressly confirms both wall and ceiling mounting. On the ceiling, the same plate-and-globe arrangement provides a surface-mounted alternative to a pendant, without a hanging cable. Its full depth still needs to be considered when deciding where to position it.

Choose a compact E14 LED bulb

There is one E14 socket, and the light source is not included. The installation manual specifies an LED bulb rated at no more than 7 W, with a maximum diameter of 45 mm and a maximum length of 80 mm. Check the bulb dimensions as well as its base: an E14 fitting alone does not ensure that it will fit inside the glass shade.

Brightness and colour temperature depend on the separately selected bulb. The warm appearance in the photograph is not a fixed light-colour specification. The fitting uses a 230 V supply; the manual identifies protection class I and a protective-earth connection.

Brass within a wall composition

The maker lists living rooms, bedrooms, dining rooms and halls as intended settings. The brushed finish, simple circle and ribbed glass support glamour, modern and Scandinavian interiors, as well as schemes combining classical details with restrained geometry. Opal glass diffuses the light through the shade, while the brass plate remains a decorative surface. This is not a directional reading spotlight.
