ARGON PIAVA 8446 pairs a round chocolate-brown disc with a spherical shade in white-brown marbled glass. The broad painted-steel surface forms a backdrop to the smaller glass globe, giving the fitting a distinct geometric outline even when switched off. The marble effect refers to the pattern in the glass, not to a shade made from stone.

Choose wall or ceiling mounting

The manufacturer specifies both wall and flush ceiling installation for this exact model. You can therefore choose the mounting position to suit the electrical outlet rather than switching to a suspended fitting. In either position, the large circular disc and central globe remain the defining parts of the design.

The disc measures 30 cm across and the shade is 12 cm in diameter. The technical drawing shows an overall projection of 15 cm from the mounting surface. For wall installation, compare that projection with available passage space and the swing of nearby doors. On the ceiling, the fitting occupies 30 cm in both directions, without a hanging cable.

A separately selected E14 bulb

PIAVA has one socket and requires a separately purchased E14 LED bulb rated at no more than 7 W. The fitting is designed for a 230 V supply. The bulb you choose determines its colour temperature and luminous flux; the socket designation and maximum wattage alone do not establish the brightness of the finished arrangement.

The glass shade surrounds the light source, with its marbled pattern forming part of the decoration. A photograph of the lamp switched on should not be read as a promise of a particular supplied light colour. No bulb is included with this model.

Brown steel and patterned glass

The simple circle-and-sphere composition supports modern and modernist interiors, while ARGON also identifies the PIAVA family with Scandinavian styling. Consider it for decorative lighting in a living room, bedroom or dining room, or within hotel and restaurant interiors. In an entrance hall, corridor or staircase, allow space for the projecting globe. Whether one fitting provides the light level you need depends on the selected bulb and the actual room, rather than on the size of the disc alone.
