PALINZA is a ceiling light shaped like a stone – an irregular grey mass 40 x 32 cm, sitting flush against the ceiling, with a scooped-out hollow on the underside holding the E27 socket.
Polyurethane and resin, not stone
The texture reproduces the rough surface of a river boulder, but the material is polyurethane with resin. That matters in practice: real stone this size would weigh tens of kilograms and could not hang from a ceiling at all. This fitting weighs 3.9 kg – it goes onto an ordinary ceiling plate, with no supporting structure. Polyurethane also allows the thin, turned-out rim that could never be carved in stone.
The light comes out from under the mass
The bulb is not visible from the side – it sits in the hollow cut into the underside and lights its interior. Instead of a point of light you see a bowl lit from within, with a soft wash on the ceiling around the fitting. It is a way of getting general light into a living room or bedroom without a flat, dutiful ceiling plate – the piece reads as an object rather than as a lamp.
An E27 socket and a 12 W ceiling
The fitting has one E27 light point, and 12 W is the maximum lamp it may take – not the luminaire's own power. No bulb is supplied, so colour and brightness are your choice: a 12 W E27 LED today usually yields around 1,000–1,200 lm. Since the source stays partly visible inside the hollow, a decorative or frosted bulb is worth the extra thought.
Dimming
The fitting carries no control gear of its own, but with a dimmable bulb and a matching dimmer the level can be varied – the natural choice for light meant to set a mood rather than to work by.
Installation and use
Mounted directly to the ceiling, supply 230 V. The IP20 rating places it in dry interiors – not for a shower zone and not for outdoors.
