The black Maytoni Dallas MOD545FL-06B floor lamp arranges six spherical shades around a slender metal upright. Its dark, tinted blown glass remains transparent enough to show the light sources inside. Rather than one large shade, the design uses a vertical grouping of small globes above a circular base.
A 150 cm lamp with a 25 cm footprint
Dallas stands 150 cm tall, with an overall diameter of 25 cm. The manufacturer's drawing also gives each glass globe a diameter of 10 cm. Compare these measurements with the back of your sofa or armchair if you want the glass grouping to remain visible above the furniture. This is the freestanding Dallas version, not one of the collection's cable-suspended pendants.
The round base is 25 cm in diameter and 2.5 cm high. Allow for the cable that exits near the bottom of the upright as well as the base itself. Neither should occupy a walking route or the sweep of an opening door. The switch is on the cable, so its position needs to remain accessible once the lamp and furniture are in place.
Six G9 sockets and your choice of light
Each of the six lighting points takes a G9 light source. Light colour and brightness depend on the chosen lamps rather than the tint of the glass alone. Because the sources remain visible through the shades, their appearance also contributes to the illuminated design. Maytoni confirms dimming capability; check that the selected lamps suit the control being used.
Decorative lighting beside a seating area
The narrow black frame and staggered spheres suit modern and modernist interiors. Dallas can provide supplementary lighting beside living-room seating, in a bedroom or in a study. In a dining room or hotel lounge, it works as a freestanding accent rather than an overhead table light. When placing it next to a chair, check the height of the visible sources against the seated user's eye level.
