Maytoni Lens DL105-12W3K-B recessed LED downlight, black, 12 W, 3000 K, IP44

Maytoni Lens DL105-12W3K-B is a round recessed downlight with a black aluminium body and a prominent convex lens. Its integrated 12 W LED produces warm white light at 3000 K. The compact circular trim is only one part of the installation decision: the ceiling cut-out, available depth and direction of the light also need checking.

Measure the opening, not just the trim

The outside diameter is 120 mm, while the required ceiling opening is 115 mm. These dimensions are not interchangeable. When replacing an existing downlight, compare the actual cut-out rather than assuming that a similar visible ring means the new fitting will fit. The body is 45 mm high, but the manufacturer's drawing specifies a minimum installation depth of 55 mm.

Spring clips secure the fitting in the opening. The technical drawing shows a tilt range of 0–20°, allowing the direction to be adjusted within that limit. This is a mechanical adjustment, not a way to change the beam angle. Check the space above the ceiling before preparing the opening.

Warm light and a 70° beam

The rated luminous flux is 760 lm and the beam angle is 70°. When planning a group of downlights, ceiling height and distance to the illuminated surface also affect the resulting coverage. The lumen figure alone does not establish how many fittings a room needs. A colour temperature of 3000 K describes the warm white appearance, while CRI 90 describes colour rendering.

The LED light source forms part of the fitting, so there is no separate screw-base bulb to choose. This particular version is not dimmable. Do not confuse its adjustable direction with adjustable brightness; that distinction matters when choosing the lighting controls.

A restrained black ceiling detail

The simple ring and exposed lens suit modern and minimalist interiors. Its recessed form can be considered for living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and circulation areas. IP44 also allows consideration for a bathroom, provided the actual installation position meets the requirements of the relevant electrical zone. Before ordering, check the 115 mm opening and the available installation depth.
