MODU 130/130 BB is a sofa module without armrests — a square block 130 cm on each side, with a low back running along one edge. The body is upholstered all round, rear and sides included, in blue short-pile fabric, with a seam visible along the edges. The module belongs to the MODU system, in which individual pieces are combined into corner units and longer sofas.
How much floor it takes
The footprint is a 130 × 130 cm square. Against a 3 m wall it leaves 170 cm free beside it — the measurement to compare with the next module you plan to stand there. At 130 cm the depth is unusual for a sofa: the module reaches further into the room than an ordinary seat.
If it is to stand free rather than against a wall, add the walkway to the depth — at the 80 cm of clear passage usually allowed, that comes to a 210 cm strip of floor.
What it is like to sit on
The seat sits 45 cm above the floor, the height at which an adult rests their feet flat on the ground. Across, the module measures 130 cm — at the 60 cm per adult usually counted, two people sit on it.
Overall height is 75 cm, so the back rises 30 cm above the seat: it supports the lower back rather than the whole of it. The module has no armrests on any side, which is what lets it butt straight up against the next piece, but the sides give an arm nothing to rest on.
What it is made of and what comes with it
The manufacturer lists two materials: fabric and wood. From the outside only the upholstery is visible — the wood works in the frame beneath it. The fabric has a short, dense pile of a velvet character that lightens and darkens as the viewing angle changes.
Cushions are not included. Two of them lie on the seat in the photographs, but the manufacturer sells them separately and notes as much on its own drawing of the modules — buy the module alone and you get the block with its back and nothing else.
